The academic committee of the host country is responsible for preparing exam questions, detailed solutions, and marking schemes. Typically, these questions are divided into the following four groups.
10 to 15 theory questions of varying lengths and 3 spare questions.
2 to 3 data analysis questions and 1 spare question.
Night sky/planetarium questions.
Team competition questions.
